Take a side tour to Dry Creek, and Markham Dam is a beautiful place. All the outdoors exciting stuff near Ponderosa Campground will keep you coming back repeatedly. A campground like
this is too great to miss. If you don’t have a problem getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Shoshone River; a golf course close by is Olive-Glenn Golf & Country Club. Whitewater paddling is fine on Clarks Fork Yellowstone River; you'll find a beautiful lake
called City Reservoir. It is very arid here at Ponderosa Campground frequently; of all the months in a year May is the one with the most rain, and February is when it's the driest. High temperatures at Ponderosa Campground during the warmest time of the year are in the 80's;
the overnight is a bit chillier of course, frequently in the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 30's while Ponderosa Campground night low temperatures throughout the winter are in the 0's. A tour to Buffalo Bill State Park when you're here at Ponderosa Campground is never a bad idea; Ponderosa Campground is not far at all from Cody.
