| | If you are in Wyoming throughout camping season, you have to go camping. This is truly a good campground. Tongue River is a pleasant whitewater spot near Hunter Trailhead; for you golfers we recommend close by Sheridan Country Club. If you desire a little side spree, try Cemetery Draw, and if you don't mind getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Clear Creek.
Hiking along the Stockwell Trail is tremendous fun, and at Sheridan Heights Dam in the vicinity of Hunter Trailhead there are some attention-grabbing things to see. A journey |
to Bighorn National Forest when you're here at Hunter Trailhead is a great idea; if the weather is perfect, you can go for a hike along the Tepee Trail.

| Little Goose Creek, and Hume Ponds is a nearby lake that you could stop by. During the months of summer, highs regularly are in the 80's at Hunter Trailhead. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 50's. During the winter the highs are mostly in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Hunter Trailhead are in the 0's. Not much precipitation falls here at Hunter Trailhead; during the month of May you get the most rain around here while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
