During the wintertime highs are frequently in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Hunter Trailhead are in the 0's. Hunter Trailhead is very popular with folks from Sheridan.

leave Hunter Trailhead without first going for a hike along the Story Penrose Trail.
This is such a splendid campground. Get your pulse rate up on the great whitewater of Clear Creek; Hunter Trailhead is right by the Tepee Trail. What a site this is for outdoors folks. There's
whitewater on Tongue River for all you adrenaline rush seekers; hiking is a popular thing to do around Hunter Trailhead; Bear Gulch Trail is a brilliant local trail.
Hunter Trailhead really is in the middle of a pretty outdoors paradise.
This is such a beautiful campground.
You might want to pay a visit to Cemetery Draw while you're here at Hunter Trailhead, and Antelope Butte is a very popular ski area around here.
