Hell's Half Acre Motel and Cafe, Wyoming
|
| | The sign's still there and so is the old restaurant. This was taken 3 years ago. I hadn't been there since I was a little girl and the restaurant was still open back then. I was one of the little girls that got yelled at for getting to close to the edge...LOL Says Sunbear (see picture)
Go in East of Hell's Half Acre, plenty of gates, but if you respect the landowner and close the gates and stay on the trails, you can actually drive down to the
bottom of this little canyon, I know I have many times.? Just close the gates behind you. Says Robert
I remember as a child going through Hells Half Acre to go to or from Worland. I remember me and my family ate at the restaurant.
| | | But its sad to see what little devious named town has become nothing but a ghost town :( One day I'll revisit it with my children and show them that the country side of Wyoming is the best place to be when you need to release some steam. Says Ian
08/18/06My family and I drove by Hell's Half Acre today on the way to the mall in Casper. I was disapointed to see the motel had vanished as if it were never there and the restaurant had been virtually pick

apart piece by piece. With boards covering the windows. Hell's Half Acre was smelling like a ghost town. We all felt like a place we had come to know and love had been left to die. As we drive by from time time we will give the

ghost town a wave good-bye. Says Philip Wichelhaus
My daughter and I stopped by Hells Half Acre today. It's been a while since I'd been through there, and was sad to see the motel totally gone, its been demolished and removed, the restaraunt / store is all boarded up. Even the propane tank is tipped over and disconnected. There are concrete barriers blocking the drive in, but you can still walk around them after pulling up to them. Heck if anything, NOW, you can go as far as you like with out getting yelled at :) Its still worth the stop to check it out.

We're going back Thursday and going all the way down, YES, Im taking my camera ;) Says Troy Rayburn
