Hatfield Dam close to Russell Park Campground there are some interesting things to see, and fine hiking is available along the Silver Mound Trail. Do take a look at Lake Arbutus in the vicinity of Russell Park Campground, it's a wonderful lake; don't forget to take a great
little tour to Arnold Creek. You get a fine sight of Duck Hill from Russell Park Campground, and during your journey here you'll meet some folks from Merrillan for sure. A nice site for whitewater paddling close to Russell Park Campground is Black River, and a visit here wouldn’t
be complete without a journey to close by Black River State Forest. All through the months of summer at Russell Park Campground highs are commonly in the 80's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 50's. Highs through the winter are mostly in the 10's while the cold winter nights at Russell Park Campground are in the-10's.
