Cedar Hills Campground, Wisconsin Custom Search   Cedar Hills is very convenient to Mazomanie, Sauk City, Mazo Beach, and only about a half hour from Madison. Easy trips to House on the Rock, Shot Tower State Park, Talieson. Winery's nearby. Canoe rental nearby, boat rental in Sauk City. Horse trails adjacent, I don't know if you can keep one at camp. Pets allowed, on leash. At least one regular camper lands his helicopter at camp occasionally, so if you have one... Overnight camping is about $16, electric sites available. Bring quarters for the showers. Ice and firewood available. Many     sites have absolutely beautiful views, you won't find this at Jellystone. You also won't find a camp store, organized activities, golf carts, swimming pool, restaurant and bar. This is a very pleasant basic campground. Not much to offer to bored little kids other than that which nature provides. It's not uncommen to see hawks and bald eagles soaring over the valley. From our site this spring we regularly see an adult pair of eagles with their babies. Cool. Interesting aside thing, this is also an operating farm, with cows and corn and tractors and stuff. You have to drive past the barn to get in. Remember to say HI! to the cows, they appreciate the attention. One last thing: Please don't tell anyone else about this place; Carl might raise the prices if it get's too popular... ;-) Says Willy Spectacular views of   the Wisconsin River valley. Close to the Wisconsin River and many local attractions. Inexpensive camp sites and friendly staff. Facilities include showers, shelter and pit toilets conveniently located around the campground. Hiking and trail riding available on pubic DNR land adjacent to the campground. This campground is one of the hidden treasures of the area and I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys the wonders of nature. Says Lynn A magnificent place like Blue Mound State Park near Cedar Hills Campground is too magnificent to leave out, and during your trip here you'll meet some folks from Mazomanie for sure. There's whitewater on Skillet Creek for all you adrenaline people, and do take a look at Lake Marion Pond, it's a pretty lake. Summertime at Cedar Hills Campground arrives with high temperatures in the 80's, and through the night it cools down to the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 20's with temperatures at Cedar Hills Campground dipping down into the 0's through winter nights. The surroundings of this campground have so many things to offer. You can run the rapids of Baraboo River in close proximity to Cedar Hills Campground, and the snow is great at Tyrol Basin. There are perfect sites to look at along the Grottos Trail; obviously, all our national parks are magnificent places to explore and North Country National Scenic Trail is no exception. If you fancy the outdoors, you'll adore Cedar Hills Campground. Good hiking is available along the West Bluff Trail, and if you yearn for a little side trip, try Dunlap Hollow. This is no location for people who don’t like to have a good time. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Cedar Hills Campground; East Bluff Woods Trail is a brilliant local trail; Ice Age National Scenic Trail is a pleasant national park. Go for a hike on the East Bluff Trail, and don't leave without stopping by Devil's Lake State Park. This campground is so pleasant. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Bluff Trail, and there are some wonderful whitewater spots on Wisconsin River. From a rain point of view Cedar Hills Campground is a pretty common site; the month with most of the rain is September, and January is when it's the driest.
