Cedar Hills Campground, Wisconsin
|
| | Spectacular views of the Wisconsin River valley. Close to the Wisconsin River and many local attractions. Inexpensive camp sites and friendly staff. Facilities include showers, shelter and pit toilets conveniently located around the campground. Hiking and trail riding available on pubic DNR land adjacent to the campground. This campground is one of the hidden treasures of the area and I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys the wonders of nature. Says Lynn
Cedar Hills is very convenient to Mazomanie, Sauk City, Mazo Beach, and only about a |
half hour from Madison. Easy trips to House on the Rock, Shot Tower State Park, Talieson. Winery's nearby. Canoe rental nearby, boat rental in Sauk City. Horse trails adjacent, I don't know if you can keep one at camp. Pets allowed, on leash. At least one regular camper
| lands his helicopter at camp occasionally, so if you have one... Overnight camping is about $16, electric sites available. Bring quarters for the showers. Ice and firewood available. Many sites have absolutely beautiful views, you won't find this at Jellystone. You also won't find a camp store, organized activities, golf carts, swimming pool, restaurant and bar. This is a very pleasant basic campground. Not much to offer to bored little kids other than that which nature provides. It's not uncommen to see hawks and bald eagles soaring over the | |
|
valley. From our site this spring we regularly see an adult pair of eagles with their babies. Cool. Interesting aside thing, this is also an operating farm, with cows and corn and tractors and stuff. You have to drive past the barn to get in. Remember to say HI! to the cows,
they appreciate the attention. One last thing: Please don't tell anyone else about this place; Carl might raise the prices if it get's too popular... ;-) Says Willy
Cedar Hills Campground is a top choice campground with the people of Mazomanie. Summertime at Cedar Hills
Campground arrives with high temperatures in the 80's, and the overnight is a tad chillier of course, generally in the 50's. High temperatures through the wintertime are normally in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Cedar Hills Campground. Camping out sure
is an entertaining thing to do; Cedar Hills Campground in Wisconsin is a good spot to go. Glide down the rapids of Skillet Creek in a kayak, and when you're here it's always fun to go to Devil's Lake State Park. An average amount of rainfall falls at Cedar Hills Campground;
of all the months in a year September is the one with the most rain; January is the month with the least moisture. This campground is so tremendous. If you come at the right time of year, Baraboo River offers some great whitewater, and during your trip here you'll meet some
people from Mazomanie for sure. A lot of people camp here to be near Devil's Lake State Park. The pleasant variety of local attractions and such a pleasant variety of outdoors recreation are nice motives to come. This campground has so much exciting stuff to offer. A visit
to North Country National Scenic Trail is recommended, and there's tremendous hiking along the East Bluff Trail. The caring people working here and a fine variety of entertaining stuff are in themselves motive enough to come here. Paddling on Wisconsin River is so much fun; the
West Bluff Trail offers hiking at its best. But wait, there's more to do near Cedar Hills Campground. Take a hike on the Bluff Trail, and Blue Mound State Park is a good spot to stretch your legs a bit. Tyrol Basin is a brilliant local ski area, and Cedar Hills Campground is
right by the East Bluff Woods Trail. Good hiking is available along the Grottos Trail. Since you're here at Cedar Hills Campground why not stop by Dunlap Hollow, and if you haven’t been to Ice Age National Scenic Trail, you ought to schedule some time for it while you're here.
Wisconsin is a good spot for outdoors people. There's more to do close to Cedar Hills Campground other than just hanging out such as hiking, and whitewater paddling, so running out of fun things to do won’t happen.
