On close by Halls Creek you locate a category I-II stretch of whitewater; the Trow Lake Dam to Black River section is 9.7 miles long. Do depend on continuing to be dry kayak paddling this stretch of Halls Creek. Whitewater rapids are risky occurrences, so you       should check current conditions in advance of a trip. If you're visiting Alma Center KOA Kampground from Alma Center, you won't be the only one, and the peak of Silver Mound can be made out from Alma Center KOA Kampground. For all   you bowlers, Beaver Lanes & Pizzeria is a great bowling alley right next door to Alma Center KOA Kampground. Near Alma Center KOA Kampground you discover the Hamilton Falls Snowmobile Trail which is a tremendous hiking trail; golf can be played at Skyline Golf Club. The Silver Mound Trail is a fine hiking trail close to Alma Center KOA Kampground, and wonderful family excitement is waiting for you at Hoffman Aquatic Center.   AMENITIES Tent camping is available - Quipped with poles for hanging your lantern and a bench, firering and picnic table. A new satellite bathouse is nearby with outdoor sinks for washing dishes with hot water. RV hookups are available - Aproximately 65 RV hookups Pets are allowed - Must be on a leash at all times, you must not allow them to bark and you must clean up after them We have a very nice pet walking area. Campfires are allowed - New this year. You may not bring firewood from any quarantined area. We will be monitoring this closely and we follow the suggestions of the DNR. Grocery store nearby - Truck stops with minimal groceries aprox 3 1/2 miles. Larger grocery approximately 10-12 miles.
