Stuart Recreation Area - Monongahela National Forest, West Virginia Custom Search   Out of all the WV and Ohio State Parks I have vacationed at. Stuart's is the best. Stuart's is a very clean state of the art camping facility. My favorite part of Stuarts was the fact there was gravel at every campsite so on those rainy days you were not fighting mud! I camp here at least 2 or three times a year and will come back here every year! Stuart Recreation Area is located in an area with a lot of     cool things to do, and spending time at this campground is very pleasant. Whohoo, so much fun stuff in one place! Stuart Recreation Area is great! Lots of people from Elkins come to Stuart Recreation Area, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Roaring Creek - Tygart Valley River Tributary. It's been too long since you went outside, and Stuart Recreation Area in West Virginia is the outdoors at its most excellent. This is such a fun spot for a campground. Don't leave Stuart Recreation Area without visiting Monongahela National Forest, and going for a hike on the Little Black Fork Trail is always a good adventure. A tour to Stuart Recreation Area wouldn’t be complete without a tour to nearby Audra State Park, and you can go for a hike on the South Haddix Trail. This campground   is a scenic spot to stop by. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Stuart Recreation Area; Long Trail is a fine local trail, and a glorious site for whitewater paddling is Cheat River - Shavers Fork. All the lively folks and the competently maintained facilities will make you feel brilliant. Some of the water close by flows, like Goddin Run, and get your heart pumping on the nice whitewater of Tygart Valley River. Stuart Recreation Area is an old favorite with the people in Elkins. A day on the slopes of Snowshoe is just what you need, and brilliant hiking is available along the McGowan Mountain Trail. With so much to do in West Virginia you'll never get bored. Stuart Recreation Area is not the only site close by, Mill Creek Reservoir is a close by lake, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Yokum Hunter Access Trail. Through the days of summer at Stuart Recreation Area temperatures are ordinarily in the 80's. Summer night lows fall down to the 50's. All through the winter highs are in the 30's with temperatures at Stuart Recreation Area dipping down into the 10's all through winter nights. Stuart Recreation Area is a wet place that gets much precipitation; through July this area sees the most rain while February is mostly the driest month.
