| | Out of all the WV and Ohio State Parks I have vacationed at. Stuart's is the best. Stuart's is a very clean state of the art camping facility. My favorite part of Stuarts was the fact there was gravel at every campsite so on those rainy days you were not fighting mud! hiking, and whitewater paddling, so you won’t run out of things to do. Monongahela National Forest is worth visiting if you're at Stuart Recreation Area, and if the weather is perfect, you can go for a hike along the Little Black Fork Trail.
You just have to adore Stuart Recreation
| Area. Whitewater paddling is good on Cheat River - Shavers Fork; nearby you stumble on the Long Trail which is a nice hiking trail. This campground is so fine. A spree to Stuart Recreation Area wouldn’t be complete without a journey to close by Audra State Park, and Snowshoe is a very popular ski area close at hand. In case you don’t have a problem getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Tygart Valley River; there are plenty of folks from Elkins here.

most of the rain falls through July, and February is the month with the least moisture. There are so many enjoyable things near Stuart Recreation Area; many folks enjoy coming here to get away.
Stuart Recreation Area is a campground quite often visited by visitors from Elkins.
There is a great hiking trail next to Stuart Recreation Area called the McGowan Mountain Trail, and hey, Goddin Run is a great local stream.
All the good local attractions close by and such a good variety of outdoors recreation are sure to keep you coming back persistently.
Mill Creek Reservoir is a nearby lake that you could take a look at; the South Haddix Trail is a fine hiking trail nearby.
At this campground you will always have a fine time. Roaring Creek - Tygart Valley River Tributary is a great whitewater spot in close proximity to Stuart
Recreation Area, and going for a hike on the Yokum Hunter Access Trail is always a good adventure. West Virginia is a tremendous place for outdoors folks.
Pack your camping stuff and head for the campground; Stuart Recreation Area in West Virginia is the outdoors at its finest.
Summertime highs at Stuart Recreation Area commonly tend to be in the 80's, and during the night it cools down to the 50's. For the period of the winter highs are frequently in the 30's with temperatures at Stuart Recreation Area dipping down into the 10's through winter nights.
