If you come at the right time of year, Second Creek offers some nice whitewater, and a trip here wouldn’t be complete without a visit to close by Greenbrier State Forest. Second Creek Campground mostly gets a lot of rainfall; of all the months in a year July is the one with the most rain, and the driest month     is January. Summer at Second Creek Campground arrives with high temperatures in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures dip down into the 50's. During the winter highs are in the 30's, and during the dark hours in the wintertime at Second Creek Campground temperatures plunge to the 10's. While you're here at Second Creek Campground you will meet lots of folks from nearby Lewisburg, and there's magnificent hiking along the Blueline Trail. But wait, there's more to do in close proximity to Second Creek Campground. A tour to Moncove Lake State Park when you're here at Second Creek Campground is a pleasant idea, and don't leave Second Creek Campground without first going for a hike along the Laurel Run Trail. If you're here at Second Creek Campground and you like golf, you can stop by Lewisburg Elks Country Club; great hiking   is available along the Blue Bend Loop Trail. Going for a hike on the Youngs Nature Trail is always a splendid adventure; whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Anthony Creek. Wagner Hill is a peak you can catch a glimpse of from Second Creek Campground; you can go for a hike on the South Boundary Trail.
