Lots of people from French Creek come to Pioneer Campground, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Pioneer Campground; Tramontane Trail is a fine local trail. So many local attractions and such a brilliant variety of outdoors recreation are tremendous reasons to come. This campground is a gorgeous location to pop by. | spot to stretch your legs a bit, and you can run the rapids of Buckhannon River. There's more to do right next door to Pioneer Campground other than just hanging out such as whitewater paddling, fishing, hiking, and swimming, so it's not possible to get bored. Scores of folks camp here so they can go to Holly River State Park. West Virginia is a great outdoors state. Pioneer Campground without first going for a hike along the Wilderness Trail, and perfect hiking is available along the High Rock Trail. Pioneer Campground is prized by folks of French Creek. Through the summertime months, highs usually are in the 80's at Pioneer Campground.
All through the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 50's. Throughout the winter the highs are usually in the 30's; overnight lows at Pioneer Campground all through the wintertime commonly drop into the 10's. This is such a fun location for a campground. Buckhannon
River - Left Fork of Right Fork is a good whitewater spot near Pioneer Campground, and you'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Snowshoe while you're here.
