and it is a delightful campground. In the event that you don't mind getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Hominy Creek. At this campground you will always have a great time. If you get bored of Mountain Lake Campground, you could also stop at nearby Summersville
Lake, and there is a magnificent hiking trail close by called the Carnifex Trail. The good folks of Summersville like to hang out close by, and if you have the time, Bluestone National Scenic River is a national park worth stopping at. Some of the things you can do here at
Mountain Lake Campground are swimming, hiking, whitewater paddling, and fishing, so you won’t get bored. The high level of rain makes Mountain Lake Campground a reasonably wet spot; most of the rain falls throughout July; the driest of the months is February.
