Lake Sherwood - Monongahela National Forest, West Virginia Custom Search   Camping out certainly is a pleasant thing to do, and Lake Sherwood, West Virginia is a glorious place for getting out. You truly have to fancy Lake Sherwood. While you're here at Lake Sherwood you can take a hike along the Little Black Fork Trail, and in the event that you don't mind getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Roaring Creek - Tygart Valley River Tributary. Lake Sherwood is a top selection with the folks in Elkins. Whitewater paddling is wonderful on Tygart Valley River; if the weather is glorious, you     can go for a hike along the South Haddix Trail. West Virginia has loads of outdoors activities. Goddin Run is a wonderful place to go to, and going for a hike on the Yokum Hunter Access Trail is always a tremendous adventure. There is a nice hiking trail near Lake Sherwood called the Long Trail, and you beyond doubt should check out Monongahela National Forest while you're here. The McGowan Mountain Trail is a good hiking trail in the vicinity of Lake Sherwood, and if you've had enough of Lake Sherwood, Mill Creek Reservoir is nearby. There is so much cool stuff to do in the neighborhood of Lake Sherwood, and it certainly is a glorious campground. Lake Sherwood gets much water; during the month of July you get the most rain around here, and the driest month is February. This is truly a wonderful campground. Audra   State Park is both nice and beautiful, and it's near Lake Sherwood; get soaked paddling on Cheat River - Shavers Fork. The friendly surroundings and the perfectly run operations have lots of people coming here. The surroundings of this campground have so much stuff to offer. Head up to Snowshoe and strap some skis to your feet, and during your trip here you'll meet some people from Elkins for sure. For the period of the summer months at Lake Sherwood highs are regularly in the 80's. Through the moonlight hours it's mostly in the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's, and night lows at Lake Sherwood through the winter usually fall into the 10's. There's such a vast number of things to do at Lake Sherwood including fishing, whitewater paddling, hiking, and swimming, so it's impossible to get bored.
