There's so many things to do at Lake Sherwood including whitewater paddling, and hiking, so you won’t get bored. Lake Sherwood generally gets much rain; throughout the month of July you get the most rain around here, and February is when it's the driest. You can run the rapids of Cheat River - Shavers Fork close to Lake Sherwood; the Little Black Fork Trail |
offers hiking at its best.

| Have a perfect hiking adventure along the Long Trail; if you're looking for some flowing water? Try Goddin Run. While you're here at Lake Sherwood you can take a hike along the Yokum Hunter Access Trail; since you're here you will meet lots of folks from close by Elkins. Lake Sherwood is right by the South Haddix Trail; a spree to Audra State Park is a nice idea.

is too great to leave out, and there's whitewater on Tygart Valley River for all you adrenaline people. The skiing at Snowshoe is great, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Roaring Creek - Tygart Valley River Tributary.
There
is so much fun stuff to do near Lake Sherwood, and camping is such an enjoyable activity, and this is a brilliant place to do that. The pleasant ambiance and the splendor of the place have folks coming from far and near.
Such a good choice of attractions and such a good variety
of outdoors recreation are guaranteed to keep you coming back repeatedly. Summertime at Lake Sherwood arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. Summer night lows sink down to the 50's. High temperatures all through the winter are normally in the 30's, and during the dark hours in the wintertime at Lake Sherwood temperatures dip to the 10's.
