If you get bored of Horseshoe Recreation Area, you could also have a look at close by Mill Creek Reservoir, and don't leave without going to Audra State Park. You can run the rapids of Cheat River - Shavers Fork close to Horseshoe Recreation Area; there's great hiking along the Long Trail. Throughout the warm days of summer, highs ordinarily are in the 80's at Horseshoe Recreation Area. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 50's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Horseshoe Recreation Area.
