If you're dropping by Blue Bend Rec Area from Elkins, you won't be the only one, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Blue Bend Rec Area; Little Black Fork Trail is a great local trail. There is so much enjoyable stuff to do close to Blue Bend Rec Area, and it's always fun to be at this campground. Blue Bend Rec Area sees pretty high levels of rainfall; July is the wettest   month with most rain, and the driest month of the year is February. There's heaps of outdoors recreation available in the neighborhood such as whitewater paddling, and hiking, so most likely you want to stick around. West Virginia is a great location for outdoors people. This campground is a delightful place to visit. You'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Snowshoe while you're here. Blue Bend Rec Area is right by the Long Trail; don't leave without visiting Monongahela National Forest. Loads of fun is at this campground. The South Haddix Trail offers hiking at its best, and a nice site like Audra State Park is too fine to leave out.
