Big Ridge Campground, West Virginia   Summertime at Big Ridge Campground arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures dip down into the 50's. People from Mathias love to come to Big Ridge Campground, and nearby you locate the Trout Pond Trail which is a delightful hiking trail. The friendly reception and all the tremendous passtime   activities are reason enough to come here. Some of the things you can do here at Big Ridge Campground are hiking, and whitewater paddling, so you won’t get bored. Big Ridge Campground is a very popular old favorite campground among the folks from Mathias. Big Ridge Campground really is in the middle of a stunning outdoors paradise. On a splendid day at Big Ridge Campground you can take a hike along the Hunkerson Gap Trail, and whitewater paddling is brilliant on Lost River. Big Ridge Campground gets a typical amount of yearly rainfall; through July this area sees the most rain, and the driest month is February. There is a brilliant hiking trail right next door to Big Ridge Campground called the North Mountain Trail. All the delightful local attractions in the neighborhood and the delightful variety of outdoors recreation will make you glad you came.
