Whiskey Creek Beach, Olympic Mountains, Washington
|
| | The best place on earth. Amazing. Says Lynsey
Whiskey Creek Beach Resort is a great place, and the cabins are reasonable and very rustic (wood for heat only, and kerosene lanterns). Though a few cabins have slightly more amenities the rustic ones are more favorites. Nearby, there's also the Makah Trail (less than a mile hike) at Cape Flattery/Neah Bay going to out to the beautiful overlook over the grottos and the ocean vistas out to Tatoosh Island. Check out the Makah Museum while you're there too. Really well done. Then there's Lake Ozette |

and the trail to Sand Pt./Cape Alava. Hurricaine Ridge is a short distance away near Port Angeles. Have never heard of the ski lodge, there is a visitor center at Hurricaine Ridge though, but I'm not a skier. Also, there's a nearby (right up the road from Whiskey Creek, the
| office can tell you more) blueberry U-Pick in mid-August to late August that has humongous perfect blueberries. And you have to check out the Joyce General Store in Joyce, WA. Has everything from a penny up. If you're staying at Whiskey Creek, you definitely want to make a stop there (great place for penny candy and little toys for the younger set - fun just to browse. Enjoy. This part of the peninsula really has a lot going for it. From LaPush to PA - it's all very close. Says Gail
