Among the things you can do next to Walnut Hills Campground are hiking, swimming, whitewater paddling, and fishing, so perhaps you want to stay for a while.

Some of the water close by flows, like Pine Run, and there are some wonderful whitewater spots on Tye River - Upper North Fork. Lots of people from Mint Spring come to Walnut Hills Campground, and South River Number Seven Dam is not far at all from Walnut Hills Campground.
