| | Pohick Bay Regional Park is a water oriented park located on the Potomac River 22 miles south of the nation's capital. Our boat launch facility is one of only 3 public access points to the Potomac River in northern Virginia and the closest to Washington DC and its famous waterfront. Pohick Bay offers canoes, kayaks, paddle boats and jon boats for rent on the weekends during the summer months.
In addition to water activities the park also offers family and group camping, golfing, boating, hiking, picnic areas, disc and miniature golf, and a playground |
for children. For those of you interested in swimming, we offer Pirate's Cove Waterpark! Please contact the park about swim lessons for your family.
Pohick Bay Regional Park, located on Mason Neck Pennisula is an ecologically fragile land that shelters an abundance of
| wildlife, including the bald eagle. Nature lovers can expect to see blue birds, osprey, heron, deer, beavers and rare sightings of river otters.
Washington, D.C., and Northern Virginia. Convenient to Interstate 95, Pohick Bay Regional Park is 11 miles from the Springfield Metro Station, 22 miles from Washington, D.C., and 11 miles from Mount Vernon. Mason Neck State Park, Mason Neck National Wildlife Refuge and Gunston Hall Plantation are Pohick Bay's neighbors on the peninsula. Pick up directions to local points of interest at the camp store.

network of trails leads walkers to the waterfront, mini golf and outdoor pool. A one-mile trail connects the family campground to Gunston Hall Plantation, home of George Mason. The camp store has limited groceries and camping supplies including ice, charcoal, lighter fluid and
firewood. Comfort stations have hot showers, sinks, toilets and laundry.
Pohick Bay is in the neighborhood and always pleasant to stop by, and a tremendous spot for whitewater paddling is Four Mile Run. If you want a glorious time in the great outdoors, just come on down
to Pohick Bay Regional Park. The Birch Bluff Trail is a nice hiking trail near Pohick Bay Regional Park, and if you're looking for a tremendous spree, Prince William Forest Park is pretty near. This campground has it all. Looking for some flowing water? Try Pohick Creek, and you'll
most likely meet some folks from Lorton here.
Scores of fun is at this campground. Near Pohick Bay Regional Park you come across the Laurel Trail Loop which is a wonderful hiking trail, and get your heart beating on the fine whitewater of Accotink Creek. While you're here
at Pohick Bay Regional Park you can take a hike along the Maiden Fair Trail, and Hilltop Pond is a great lake close by. If the weather is great here at Pohick Bay Regional Park, you can go for a hike along the The Crossing Trail, and you undeniably should go to Mason Neck State
Park while you're here.
Pohick Bay Regional Park is a relatively wet place usually with a lot of precipitation; the month with most of the rain is August, and the driest month of the year is February. Going for a hike along the Burnt Pine Trail will let you absorb the natural
beauty of this vicinity; Great Falls Park is a splendid place nearby. At Pohick Bay Regional Park during the warm days of summer highs are in the 80's, and through the night it cools down to the 60's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 40's while Pohick Bay Regional Park night
low temperatures during the wintertime are in the 20's.
You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the amusing things at Pohick Bay Regional Park. George Washington's Grist Mill Historic State Park is both good and lovely, and it's close to Pohick Bay Regional Park, and
playing golf is lots of fun at The Ospreys Golf Club Belmont Bay. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Pohick Creek; why not spend some time golfing at a nearby golf course like Pohick Bay Golf Course.
