| | Pohick Bay Regional Park is a water oriented park located on the Potomac River 22 miles south of the nation's capital. Our boat launch facility is one of only 3 public access points to the Potomac River in northern Virginia and the closest to Washington DC and its famous waterfront. Pohick Bay offers canoes, kayaks, paddle boats and jon boats for rent on the weekends during the summer months.
In addition to water activities the park also offers family and group camping, golfing, boating, hiking, picnic areas, disc and miniature golf, and a playground |
for children. For those of you interested in swimming, we offer Pirate's Cove Waterpark! Please contact the park about swim lessons for your family.
Pohick Bay Regional Park, located on Mason Neck Pennisula is an ecologically fragile land that shelters an abundance of
| wildlife, including the bald eagle. Nature lovers can expect to see blue birds, osprey, heron, deer, beavers and rare sightings of river otters.
Washington, D.C., and Northern Virginia. Convenient to Interstate 95, Pohick Bay Regional Park is 11 miles from the Springfield Metro Station, 22 miles from Washington, D.C., and 11 miles from Mount Vernon. Mason Neck State Park, Mason Neck National Wildlife Refuge and Gunston Hall Plantation are Pohick Bay's neighbors on the peninsula. Pick up directions to local points of interest at the camp store.

network of trails leads walkers to the waterfront, mini golf and outdoor pool. A one-mile trail connects the family campground to Gunston Hall Plantation, home of George Mason. The camp store has limited groceries and camping supplies including ice, charcoal, lighter fluid and
firewood. Comfort stations have hot showers, sinks, toilets and laundry.
If the weather is wonderful here at Pohick Bay Regional Park, you can go for a hike along the Burnt Pine Trail, and a tour to Mason Neck State Park invigorates the spirit. There's some flowing water
close by, Pohick Creek is a stream you can take a look at during your stay; there is a brilliant hiking trail close by called the The Crossing Trail. And if you're still looking for more outdoors amusing stuff just keep reading. Near Pohick Bay Regional Park you locate the Birch
Bluff Trail which is a great hiking trail. All the water falling down from the sky makes Pohick Bay Regional Park a wet place; August is when you get the most rain here while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation.

close by Pohick Bay Golf Course, and going for a hike on the Laurel Trail Loop is always a perfect adventure. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Pohick Bay Regional Park while overnight lows are ordinarily in the 60's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 40's with
temperatures at Pohick Bay Regional Park dipping down into the 20's through winter nights. At this campground you will always have a great time. Get your heart pumping on the great whitewater of Pohick Creek, and on a great day you can take a hike along the Maiden Fair Trail.
