All the tremendous local attractions around here and the tremendous variety of outdoors recreation are guaranteed to keep you coming back repeatedly. What a location this is for outdoors folks. While you're here at Grindstone you can play some golf at Brookside Par 3 Golf Course, and going for a hike on the Curry Creek Trail is always a delightful adventure. paddling right next door to Grindstone is Barbours Creek, and there is a nice hiking trail nearby called the North Mountain Trail. A visit to Virginia is not complete without some camping. You shouldn't spend too much time in the city; you need to get out of the house now and then,
and Grindstone is a wonderful local campground if you happen to be in Virginia. So much fun stuff in close proximity to Grindstone, and to be here is wonderful fun any time. Grindstone is a good site of common precipitation; the wettest month of the year is ordinarily July,
that's the one that rains the most, and February is when it's the driest. You'll discover a beautiful lake called Carvins Cove Reservoir near Grindstone, and people from Roanoke love to come here. Some activities here at Grindstone are hiking, playing golf, swimming, fishing,
and whitewater paddling, so you won’t run out of things to do. Don't leave Grindstone without first going for a hike along the Dragon Tooth Trail, and you can run the rapids of Catawba Creek. Grindstone really is in the middle of a pretty outdoors paradise. Booker T Washington
National Monument is a great local destination here at Grindstone, and an attention-grabbing thing to visit in the neighborhood of Grindstone is Carvins Cove Dam. Grindstone is situated in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Don't leave Grindstone without visiting Jefferson National
Forest; tremendous hiking is available along the Spec Mines Trail. At Grindstone throughout the summer months highs are in the 80's with overnight lows in the 60's. Highs through the wintertime are regularly in the 40's, and overnight lows at Grindstone through the winter frequently sink into the 20's.
