On a good day at Eagle's Roost you can take a hike along the Casters Trail; while you're here you should take a look at Breezy Point. Throughout the days of summer, highs commonly are in the   80's at Eagle's Roost. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 60's. During the winter highs are in the 40's; during the dark hours in the winter at Eagle's Roost temperatures sink to the 20's. This campground is always a diversion. Smith Mountain Lake State Park is worth visiting if you're at Eagle's Roost, and an afternoon playing golf at The Westlake Golf & Country Club is always a delight. Eagle's Roost is a pretty wet place usually with a great deal of rain; July is when you get the most rain here, and January is the month with the least moisture.
