| | The Old Lantern is no longer used as a campground. Only the large barn is rented out for events, but no overnight accomodations are available currently. Says Lisa
The personnel who's always there to assist and all the enjoyable stuff are reason enough to come here. People from Charlotte love to come to Old Lantern Campground; Cochran Ski Center is a very popular ski area close at hand. Campground is a popular spot with the residents of Charlotte. You assume that's enough? Just getting warmed up. If you're here at Old Lantern Campground and you like golf, you can take a look at Kwiniaska; Golf Club, and swing by Pringle Brook it's a delightful location to check
| out. Get your sleeping bag packed and hit the road; Old Lantern Campground is a good local campground if you happen to be in Vermont. The tremendous variety of local attractions and so much to do will make you delighted you came. Near Old Lantern Campground you hit upon the Abbey Pond Trail which is a splendid hiking trail, and here at Old Lantern Campground you can distinguish Mutton Hill. This campground has it all. Glide down the rapids of Boquet River in a kayak, and going for a hike on the Beaver Meadow Trail is always a pleasant adventure. | |

If you come to this campground, you will have a nice time for sure. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Boquet River - North Branch, and Kingsland Bay State Park is both perfect and beautiful. Lots of people stay at this campground for the purpose of being in the vicinity of Mt.
Philo State Park. Among the things you can do close to Old Lantern Campground are playing golf, hiking, and whitewater paddling, so probably you want to stick around. Paddling on Lewis Creek is so much fun, and Mt. Philo State Park is a nice place to pop by on a lovely
day. If you are in Vermont all through camping season, you must go camping. Summertime highs at Old Lantern Campground generally tend to be in the 80's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 50's. Highs through the wintertime are generally in the 20's; night lows at Old Lantern Campground through the wintertime mostly plunge into the 0's.
