Getting to Riford Brook from Abel Mountain Campground is easy, and locations like Allis State Park are great to explore. This is such a fun spot for a campground. White River is a great whitewater spot right next door to Abel Mountain Campground, and if you're here you can take a hike along the Clark Brook Trail. For the duration of the summer here at Abel Mountain Campground, high temperatures ordinarily get into the 70's, and the nighttime is slightly cooler of course, regularly in the 50's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 20's, and during the dark hours in the wintertime at Abel Mountain Campground temperatures fall to the 0's.
