Paddling on Roaring Branch is so much fun, and a journey to Clarksburg State Park when you're here is never a bad idea. There's more to do near Merck Forest Foundation other than just hanging out such as whitewater paddling, and hiking, so most likely you want to stay a bit.
Man, is there a load of entertaining stuff to do near Merck Forest Foundation. Going for a hike on the Taconic Crest Trail is always a magnificent adventure, and you can see Mann Hill from Merck Forest Foundation. The brilliant variety of local attractions and such a vast number of things to do are magnificent reasons to come. From a rainfall point of view Merck Forest Foundation is a pretty common place; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain while February is generally the driest month.
Ellis Mine Hollow is a fine location to look at, and a tour to Taconic State Park is a pleasant idea. It's totally impossible to get bored in Vermont if you love the outdoors.
