Whitewater paddling is pleasant on Big Cottonwood Creek, and there's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at close by Snowbird. Some activities here at Monte Cristo are fishing, hiking, whitewater paddling, swimming, and playing golf, so it's completely out of the question to get bored.

Paddling on Jordan River is so much fun; why not take a refreshing hike along the The Sheep Trail. At Monte Cristo throughout the summer highs are in the 90's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. During the winter the highs are mostly
in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Monte Cristo are in the 10's. Monte Cristo is a popular spot with the folks from North Salt Lake.
Mormon Pioneer National Historic Trail is a perfect spot in the neighborhood of Monte Cristo, and if you wish for a little side visit,
try City Creek Canyon.
Monte Cristo is generally a quite dehydrated spot; the month with most of the rain is April, and July is the month with the least moisture. Take a hike on the Lake Desolation Trail, and in the event that you don’t have a problem getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Little Cottonwood Creek.
