Bastrop State Park is a fine place to stretch your legs a bit, and you can have a good hiking adventure along the Northern Loop Trail.   You can run the rapids of Colorado River close to Way Campground; there's some flowing water nearby, Gills Branch is a stream you can pop by during your stay. So many local attractions and such a large number of things to do will make you pleased you came. Hiking along the Lost Pines Trail is brilliant fun, and get your pulse rate up on the splendid whitewater of Onion Creek. This is such a pleasant campground. Golf can be played at Colovista Country Club, and locations like Buescher State Park are good to explore. With so much to do in Texas you'll never get bored. As if Way Campground wasn't enough, you can also go whitewater paddling, playing golf, and hiking, so most likely you want to stay for a while. Way Campground gets a normal amount of rain; May is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest of the months is August.
