Every Tuesday is Jam Day for local musicians to showcase their talents in our Rec Hall. Weekly classes in Spanish (Speaking), Computer (Using), Line Dancing, Watercolor and Craft Making. There are plenty of organized activities offered every week; Bowling, Cribbage, Euchre, Dominoes and Billiards (Pool) are scheduled regularly, as well as Crafts, Bible Study and Special Suppers. Oleander Acres' location is convenient to the historic town of Mission, Texas. You will be just a few minutes from unique local shopping, delicious and authentic Mexican food, and the white, sandy beaches of South Padre Island.
Oleander Acres is within four miles of six golf courses, and is near historic sites, including La Lomita Chapel, the El Granjeno Cemetery, and the Our Lady of Guadalupe Church among several others. There are also numerous parks and natural areas where you can enjoy a relaxing stroll
among the varied habitats of the area. Boating and Fresh water fishing is also close by on the Rio Grande River. There are several entertainment spots close by like Dodge Arena, Pepe's on the River, and The Riverside. Mission is also home to several festivals including the Texas
Butterfly Festival.

The Bentsen - Rio Grande Valley State Park Trail is a splendid hiking trail in the neighborhood of Oleander Acres, and unsurprisingly, this is a great neighborhood for folks who like lakes, Sardinas Resaca is a lake nearby. There is a delightful hiking
trail in the vicinity of Oleander Acres called the Lower Rio Grande Valley National Wildlife Refuge Trail; going to Bentsen-Rio Grande Valley State Park is a magnificent thing to do. Summertime highs at Oleander Acres usually tend to be in the 90's. Summer nighttime lows sink down
to the 70's. Highs during the winter are mostly in the 60's; after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Oleander Acres descend into the 40's. Oleander Acres is pretty waterless generally; of all the months in a year September is the one with the most rain while
March is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
If you're a golfer then a wonderful nearby course is Martin Valley Ranch Golf Course; going for a hike on the Santa Ana National Wildlife Refuge Trail is always a tremendous adventure. Coming to this campground is always
a great idea. Why not spend some time golfing at a nearby golf course like El Nino Golf Course, and lots of people from Mission come here. And if that's not enough, there's a heap more to do close to Oleander Acres. A round of golf at nearby Shari Municipal Golf Course is a perfect way to kill some time.
