Every Tuesday is Jam Day for local musicians to showcase their talents in our Rec Hall. Weekly classes in Spanish (Speaking), Computer (Using), Line Dancing, Watercolor and Craft Making. There are plenty of organized activities offered every week; Bowling, Cribbage, Euchre, Dominoes and Billiards (Pool) are scheduled regularly, as well as Crafts, Bible Study and Special Suppers. Oleander Acres' location is convenient to the historic town of Mission, Texas. You will be just a few minutes from unique local shopping, delicious and authentic Mexican food, and the white, sandy beaches of South Padre Island.
Oleander Acres is within four miles of six golf courses, and is near historic sites, including La Lomita Chapel, the El Granjeno Cemetery, and the Our Lady of Guadalupe Church among several others. There are also numerous parks and natural areas where you can enjoy a relaxing stroll
among the varied habitats of the area. Boating and Fresh water fishing is also close by on the Rio Grande River. There are several entertainment spots close by like Dodge Arena, Pepe's on the River, and The Riverside. Mission is also home to several festivals including the Texas
Butterfly Festival.

On a great day at Oleander Acres you can take a hike along the Lower Rio Grande Valley National Wildlife Refuge Trail, and during your journey here you'll meet some people from Mission for sure. This is a good campground. There is a fine hiking trail
near Oleander Acres called the Santa Ana National Wildlife Refuge Trail; golf can be played at Martin Valley Ranch Golf Course. It is very dry here at Oleander Acres frequently; September is the month that gets the most rain while March is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
Lakes are wonderful; Sardinas Resaca is a lake that's near Oleander Acres, and playing golf is lots of fun at Shari Municipal Golf Course.
Through the warm days of summer highs here at Oleander Acres reach the 90's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down
into the 70's. For the period of the wintertime this place gets highs in the 60's while Oleander Acres overnight low temperatures during the winter are in the 40's. What a location this is for outdoors people. If you're a golfer then a nice nearby course is El Nino Golf Course.
If the weather is good here at Oleander Acres, you can go for a hike along the Bentsen - Rio Grande Valley State Park Trail, and spots like Bentsen-Rio Grande Valley State Park are brilliant to check out.
