Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Sabinal, and Kerrville-Schreiner State Park is a wonderful site.
Drift down the rapids of Medina River in a kayak, and places like Lost Maples State Natural Area are pleasant to stop by.
