Galveston Island State Park, Texas   We have always enjoyed our stays In Galveston Island State Park. The sites are well-maintained, the restrooms clean, and the beach is wonderful! We only wosh we could get there more often! Many times the campground is full, because so many from neighboring towns (especially Houston, where we live) want to stay there, so we the campground is full. The staff is helpful and friendly. We would highly recommend staying at the campground, just make your reservations early! Says Mike & Jean Edgar Lots of folks from Hitchcock come to Galveston Island     State Park, and there are tremendous locations to explore along the Galveston Island State Park Trail. Galveston Island State Park regularly gets a lot of rain; through the month of September you get the most rain around here; March on the other hand is the driest. For the duration of the warm months highs here at Galveston Island State Park reach the 90's. For the period of the moonlight hours it's frequently in the 70's. During the winter highs are typically in the 60's, and after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Galveston Island State Park descend into the 40's. Palm Beach is in the vicinity of Galveston Island State Park if you're in a beach type of mood; Galveston Island State Park is not the only spot nearby, Carancahua Lake is a nearby lake. Do schedule some time to pop by Dana Cove right next door to   Galveston Island State Park if you have a chance, and a visit to Galveston Island State Park rejuvenates the spirit. This campground is so delightful. If you want to hit the beach, Jamaica Beach is close at hand; a pleasant journey to Mary Moody Northern Amphitheater is a tremendous way to spend an afternoon. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors fun things the area close to Galveston Island State Park has to offer. Swamps like Butterowe Bayou near Galveston Island State Park make for perfect places to visit.
