Hickory Star, Cumberland Plateau Mountains, Tennessee   Camping out really is a fun thing to do, and Hickory Star in Tennessee is just what you need. Some folks choose Hickory Star in order to be near Big Ridge State Park. And if that's not sufficient there's lots more amusing stuff to do in the Cumberland Plateau Mountains. If you're here, you might as well have a look at Blowing Spring Gap, and Norris Dam State Park is a wonderful site to pop by on a wonderful day. Poor Land Valley Creek is one of the streams nearby that might be worth going to; a tour to Big Ridge State Park when you're here is never a bad     idea. The caring surroundings and the loveliness of the place are incentive enough to come here. This is such a fun place for a campground. Here at Hickory Star you'll probably meet some people from Maynardville; you can go for a hike on the Deer Trail. A good deal of precipitation falls at Hickory Star; most of the rain falls during March while October is usually the driest month. There's more to do right next door to Hickory Star other than just hanging out such as whitewater paddling, and hiking, so you won’t run out of things to do. There's so much stuff to do next to Hickory Star, and you always have a great time when you're here. So many local attractions and the magnificent variety of outdoors recreation are guaranteed to keep you coming back persistently. Hickory Star is a good camp ground to use as a base while enjoying   the Cumberland Plateau Mountains. As long as you have a thing about the outdoors you will have a thing about Tennessee. Whitewater paddling is good on Little River, and don't leave Hickory Star without first going for a hike along the River Bluff Trail. All through the warmest time of the year at Hickory Star highs are ordinarily in the 80's. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 60's. Daytime highs all through the winter are in the 40's with temperatures at Hickory Star dipping down into the 20's all through winter nights. Just can't get enough of Hickory Star. If you don't mind getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Cumberland River - Clear Fork. Hickory Star is enormously popular with visitors from Maynardville.
