Big Ridge State Park is a great place to stretch your legs a bit. Take a hike on the Sugarland Mountain Trail, and when you're here   it's always fun to explore Panther Creek State Park. Eagle's Nest is a site with many visitors from Pigeon Forge; in case you don’t mind getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Little Pigeon River - West Prong. As if Eagle's Nest wasn't enough, you can also go whitewater paddling, hiking, playing golf, fishing, and swimming, so getting bored is not something that is likely to happen. Not sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this spot. The snow is fine at Ober Gatlinburg, and playing golf is lots of fun at Eagle's Landing Golf Course. Lots of folks select Eagle's Nest so they can go to Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Eagle's Nest is a very popular campground with folks from Pigeon Forge. The summit of Pine Mountain can be seen from Eagle's Nest, and since you're here you can take a hike along the Jakes Creek Trail. If you come to this campground, you will have a nice time for sure. Lost Branch is a picturesque stream that is worth a visit, and Cove Creek is a perfect whitewater spot close by. Man, is there a lot of exciting things to do close to Eagle's Nest. Nearby lakes? Sure, Hidden Mountain Lake Number One is close to Eagle's Nest, and if you haven’t been to Great Smoky Mountains National Park, you have to schedule some time for it while you're here. Eagle's Nest sees pretty high levels of rainfall; the wettest month of the year is regularly March, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest of the months is October.
