Trout Haven, Black Hills, South Dakota   Been here more than I can count. The kids always love feeding the fish (trout ponds). The food is delicious. For a really good time, fish for your dinner. It's guaranteed fresh(you caught it) & they cook it up for you or pack it to go. A really nice campground with nice people running it. Very Clean. Says Cyd Excellent Campsite! Highly recommended and they even have onsite breakfast, lunch and dinner available on a cabin like cafe sitting on their own little pond. Very quiet and peaceful setting even during the Rally (as quiet as you can expect     :)) Says Anonymous My friend and I took a trip out to South Dakota to go camping, and wound up getting lost in the Black Hills. Luckily, we ran into Trout Haven. The setting was perfect, and there were hardly any other campers. This campsite was far enough away from a city to stay private, but close enough for a good time. I highly recommend this campsite! Says Cati Martinson and Anna Kittok A journey to Jewel Cave National Monument is worthwhile, and Trout Haven is not far at all from Deadwood. Coming to this campground is always a great idea. Don't leave Trout Haven without first going for a hike along the Big Hill Ski Trail. This campground is a great spot to have a look at. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Terry Peak, and there's great hiking along the Rim Rock Trail. All   through the months of summer here at Trout Haven, high temperatures usually get into the 80's while nighttime lows are generally in the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's, and night lows in the 10's for Trout Haven. And if that's not enough there's loads more entertaining stuff to do in the Black Hills. If you get bored of Trout Haven, you could also check out close by Woodville Lake, and there are some delightful whitewater spots on Spearfish Creek. At Trout Haven you don’t see much rainfall; June is the wettest month with most rain, and January is the month with the least moisture. Mount Rushmore National Memorial is a nice national park; going for a hike on the Rapid Creek Trail is always a perfect adventure. Now, you may imagine that's heaps but there's even more entertaining things to do here in the Black Hills. Bear Butte State Park is a glorious location to go to, and if you're here you can play some golf at Tomahawk Country Club. So much amusing stuff close to Trout Haven, truly tremendous. Custer State Park is a fine place, and you can go for a hike on the Silver Arrow Trail.
