Trout Haven, Black Hills, South Dakota
|
| | My friend and I took a trip out to South Dakota to go camping, and wound up getting lost in the Black Hills. Luckily, we ran into Trout Haven. The setting was perfect, and there were hardly any other campers. This campsite was far enough away from a city to stay private, but close enough for a good time. I highly recommend this campsite! Says Cati Martinson and Anna Kittok
Excellent Campsite! Highly recommended and they even have onsite breakfast, lunch and dinner available on a cabin like cafe sitting on their own little pond. Very quiet |
and peaceful setting even during the Rally (as quiet as you can expect :)) Says
Been here more than I can count. The kids always love feeding the fish (trout ponds). The food is delicious. For a really good time, fish for your dinner. It's guaranteed fresh(you caught
| it) & they cook it up for you or pack it to go. A really nice campground with nice people running it. Very Clean. Says Cyd

having a good time. Trout Haven is a location that is quite dried out commonly; of all the months in a year June is the one with the most rain, and January is the month with the least moisture. Trout Haven is a very popular old favorite campground among the people from Deadwood.
At last, it's time for a camping trip once more, and Trout Haven in South Dakota is such a good spot. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Black Hills. You could also check out Woodville Lake while you're here at Trout Haven; it's nearby, and if you're here you can take a
hike along the Big Hill Ski Trail. All the outdoors cool stuff in the Black Hills will keep you coming back over and over. An afternoon playing golf at Tomahawk Country Club is always a joy, and if the weather is perfect, you can go for a hike along the Rim Rock Trail. South
Dakota is a good spot for campers. For the duration of the days of summer, highs regularly are in the 80's at Trout Haven; the nighttime is fairly cooler of course, generally in the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's with temperatures at Trout Haven dipping down into
the 10's all through winter nights. Having a great time at Trout Haven is easy. You'll meet a lot of people from Deadwood here; popping by Bear Butte State Park is a glorious thing to do. This campground is a delightful place to visit. Jewel Cave National Monument is a great
place close to Trout Haven, and hiking along the Rapid Creek Trail is pleasant fun. The splendid selection of local attractions, and the splendid variety of outdoors recreation will make you glad you came. Have a great hiking adventure along the Silver Arrow Trail, and the
skiing at Terry Peak is great. There's lots of outdoors recreation available around here such as playing golf, fishing, hiking, whitewater paddling, and swimming, so running out of entertaining things to do won’t happen.
