| | Spearfish City Campground is one of the prettiest campgrounds in the Black Hills. It has a creek and TONS of trees and a very rustic feel but with great service and flat sites. Going to the adjacent fish hatchery or city playground provides hours of family fun. I now live in MN, but when I travel to the Black Hills, this is where I coose to stay. Says Jody

At this campground you will always have a splendid time. Man, is there lots of entertaining stuff to do in the Black Hills. Here at Spearfish City Campground you can distinguish Lookout Peak, and hiking along the Rim Rock Trail is splendid fun.
You just have to love the Black Hills. Fish Hatchery Gulch is right next door to Spearfish City Campground and is a glorious spot, and folks from Spearfish love to come here. As if Spearfish City Campground wasn't enough, you can also go hiking, whitewater paddling, and playing | |

golf, so most likely you want to stick around. Spearfish City Campground is a location that is reasonably waterless mostly; the month of June is the wettest with most of the rain, and January is the month with the least moisture.
Really great skiing awaits you at Terry Peak;
why not take a refreshing hike along the Big Hill Ski Trail. Spearfish City Campground is a delightful camp ground to use as a base while enjoying the Black Hills.
This campground is a gorgeous place to stop at. A round of golf at nearby Spearfish Canyon Golf Course is a great
way to kill some time, and do take a hike on the Beaver Ridge Trail. And if that's not enough, there's loads more to do near Spearfish City Campground. A visit to Spearfish City Campground wouldn’t be complete without a trip to nearby Bear Butte State Park, and going for a hike
along the Iron Creek Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood. All the positive folks and the great large number of fun activities makes the spree here worthwhile.
Through the warm months at Spearfish City Campground highs are regularly in the 80's,
and throughout the night it cools down to the 50's. Daytime highs during the winter are in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Spearfish City Campground are in the 10's. The pleasant pick of local attractions, and such a pleasant variety of outdoors recreation are magnificent reasons to come.
