For the period of the days of summer at Pactola and Sheridan Lake temperatures are frequently in the 80's. During the moonlight hours it's mostly in the 50's. Throughout the winter the highs are usually in the 30's with temperatures at Pactola and Sheridan Lake dipping down into the 10's through winter nights. All the jolly folks and a lot of fun things to do are reason enough to come here.

There's no way someone can get bored here in the Black Hills. Bear Butte State Park is a great location to stretch your legs a bit, and if you have the time, Mount Rushmore National Memorial is a national park worth stopping at. This is really a delightful campground. Hiking is
a popular thing to do around Pactola and Sheridan Lake; Flume Trail is a wonderful local trail, and when you're here it's always fun to explore Custer State Park. While visiting this vicinity in South Dakota it's a perfect idea to go for a camping trip too.
