| | We are a small, family run horse camp. Guests bring their own horses to stay with us and ride in the Black Hills Forest, Custer State Park, and the Black Elk Wilderness Area. You don't have to have a horse to stay with us, but you do have to appreciate them.
Elk Haven Resort is a very popular campground with the folks of Keystone. This campground is so wonderful. A lake close by is Horse Thief Lake, and do take a hike on the Blackberry Trail. Get your heart beating on the tremendous whitewater of Rapid Creek, and you unquestionably have to visit |
Angostura Recreation Area since you're here. So many cool things to do in the Black Hills, not sufficient time. A spree to Jewel Cave National Monument is worthwhile, and the Iron Mountain Trail offers hiking at its best. Elk Haven Resort truly is in the middle of a gorgeous
| outdoors paradise. Summer brings highs in the 70's to Elk Haven Resort, and during the night it cools down to the 40's. Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 30's, and night lows throughout the winter for Elk Haven Resort tend to be in the 0's. This section of South Dakota is always a diversion to visit during camping season. At Elk Haven Resort you always meet someone from Keystone, and Elk Haven Resort is right by the Iron Creek Trail. national park worth stopping at, and don't forget to take a fine little tour to Grizzly Bear Creek. This camp ground is located in the stunning Black Hills. The personnel that runs this campground and the capably taken care of facilities beat anything. Elk Haven Resort
gets very little rainfall; most of the rain falls during June while January is regularly the driest month. Such a great pick of attractions and the great variety of outdoors recreation are certain to keep you coming back many times. This place, the Black Hills, has so much
outdoors amusing stuff. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Battle Creek; hiking along the Horse Thief Lake Trail is glorious fun. A lot of folks stay at Elk Haven Resort when going to Custer State Park. If you crave a little side trip,
try Lafferty Gulch, and going for a hike along the Norbeck Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area. What a place this is for outdoors people. A journey to Custer State Park when you're here at Elk Haven Resort is never a bad idea, and the top of Doane Mountain
is easily made out from Elk Haven Resort. Get your sleeping bag packed and get your wheels rolling; Elk Haven Resort, South Dakota is a great spot for getting out. There's lots of outdoors recreation available close at hand such as whitewater paddling, fishing, hiking, and swimming, so getting bored is not something that is likely to happen.
