Mitchell Lake Dam is worth going to if you're here, and why not a little side visit to Palmer Creek. This is such a great campground. The Sylvan Lake Harney Trail is a brilliant hiking trail right next door to Crooked Creek Resort. Lakes are splendid; Horse   Thief Lake is a lake that's near Crooked Creek Resort. Life's too short to enjoy all the amusing stuff close to Crooked Creek Resort. Near Crooked Creek Resort you stumble on the Willow Creek - Rushmore Trail which is a glorious hiking trail; Mount Rushmore National Memorial is a good local destination. What a location this is for outdoors people. Jewel Cave National Monument is one of the destinations in the vicinity of Crooked Creek Resort that are tremendous to go to; on a fine day you can take a hike along the Willow Creek Trail. Be careful coming to the Black Hills, you might not ever wanna return home again. When you're here at Crooked Creek Resort it's always fun to have a look at Custer State Park, and going for a hike on the Lost Cabin Trail is always a glorious adventure. Yeah, come up here to the Black Hills for a brilliant time. This is a popular place for folks from Spearfish; you can never get enough of the splendid skiing at Terry Peak. Throughout the warm days of summer, highs typically are in the 80's at Crooked Creek Resort, and all through the night it cools down to the 50's. During the winter the highs are typically in the 30's, and nighttime lows in the 10's for Crooked Creek Resort. A great place in close proximity to Crooked Creek Resort is Penalua Gulch, and the top of Storm Hill is easily seen from Crooked Creek Resort. This is such a picturesque campground. Adams Homestead and Nature Preserve is a great place to stretch your legs a bit; there are great locations to discover along the Horse Thief Lake Trail. Crooked Creek Resort gets a normal amount of annual rainfall; most of the rain falls through May, and the driest month is January.
