On a tremendous day at Westwood Ymca you can take a hike along the Ross Trail, and if you have time to spare, Quinebaug & Shetucket Rivers Valley National Heritage Corridor is a national park worth a visit. Westwood Ymca is near Hopeville Pond State Park which is a picturesque spot, and everybody close by loves skiing at Yawgoo Valley. This campground is a great place to take a look at. Get your heart beating on the tremendous whitewater of Quinebaug River; Quaddick State Park is both wonderful and pretty.
