Melville Campground Recreation Area, Rhode Island   Not fancy but neat and clean. I liked staying there for 4 days. The staff does a good job. The location is great, not far from Newport or Fall River, two areas I like to visit. There's so much stuff to do right next door to Melville Campground Recreation Area, and campgrounds like these are tremendous. So many exciting things to do here at Melville Campground     Recreation Area, too perfect to be true. If you're a golfer then a wonderful close by course is Newport National Golf Club, and Melville Campground Recreation Area is in close proximity to Fall River Heritage State Park which is a pretty location. The personnel that operates this campground and the fine facilities are pretty striking. Yeah, come here to Melville Campground Recreation Area for a wonderful time. From Melville Campground Recreation Area you acquire a great sight of Turkey Hill; if time allows, Blackstone River Valley National Heritage Corridor is a national park worth taking a look at. For the duration of the summertime months at Melville Campground Recreation Area highs are regularly in the 80's, and the night is fairly cooler of course, usually in the 60's. Through the wintertime this place gets highs in the   30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Melville Campground Recreation Area. Hessians Hole is an interesting swamp near Melville Campground Recreation Area; lots of people from Portsmouth come here. As long as you have a thing about the outdoors you will have a thing about Rhode Island. Nothing beats kicking back at Sandy Point Beach; Lawton Valley Reservoir Dam is a delightful site. Scores of people stay at this campground for the purpose of being next to Sandy Point Beach. Getting to Bloody Brook from Melville Campground Recreation Area is simple, and lakes are such calm places, why not stop by Nannaquaket Pond. Not far from Melville Campground Recreation Area you hit upon Weaver Cove; when you're here it's always fun to go to Freetown-Fall River State Forest. For you golfers we recommend close by Montaup Country Club; a wonderful location is Lawton Valley. Melville Campground Recreation Area is a very popular old favorite campground among the people in Portsmouth.
