I-81 take exit 194, the Clarks Summit exit. Follow routes 6 West and 11 North through Clarks Summit for 1 1/2 miles. Turn left onto Winola Road. Follow Winola Road for 1 mile to Route 307 North. Follow Route 307 North for 5 miles. Turn right onto Highland Drive. Follow Highland
| Drive for 6/10 mile, turn left. Follow to stop sign. Continue straight for 1 2/10 mile, entrance on left.
Please note that 81-80 campground was sold and is permanently closed.
From Highland Camp Ground you obtain a tremendous sight of Square Top, and visiting Frances Slocum State Park is a delightful thing to do. Paddling on Spring Brook is so much fun, and a golf course close by is Emanon Country Club. At Highland Camp Ground during the summertime highs are in the 70's. down to the 20's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Highland Camp Ground. You can take a little trip to Winola Mill Pond Dam since you're here at Highland Camp Ground, and Highland Camp Ground is not far at all from Lake Winola. The annual precipitation here at
Highland Camp Ground is about average; the month with most of the rain is June, and January is the month with the least moisture. Bowman Creek has a magnificent whitewater paddling spot nearby. This campground is so great. If you like swamps, you're in luck, Stantontown Swamp is
right nearby; the snow is great at Sno Mountain. This is such a great campground. In case you don’t have a problem getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Lackawanna River, and going for a hike on the Refuge Trail is always a splendid adventure. Any time
is a pleasant time at Highland Camp Ground if you go for the outdoors. Beaver Creek flows through this region, and if you're here and you like golf, you can take a look at Summit Hills Golf Course. There is a nice hiking trail next to Highland Camp Ground called the Pinnacle Trail; a journey to Lackawanna State Park when you're here is never a bad idea.
