Good hiking is available along the West Branch Bruce Lake Trail, and delightful scenery and wonderful skiing is what you obtain at Ski Big Bear. It's really not good for you to spend too much time indoors; you need to get out of the house now and then, and Caffrey Recreation Area in Pennsylvania is exactly what you need.
