Rainbow - Mount Hood National Forest, Central Cascade Range, Oregon   If you adore the outdoors, you won’t be let down; there's whitewater paddling, swimming, hiking, and fishing, so getting bored is not something that is likely to happen. Not far from Rainbow you get some great water scenery at Firwood Veneer Corporation Dam, and paddling on Bull Run is so much fun. There are good locations to explore along the Fanton Plaza Trail, and drift down the rapids of Sandy River in a kayak. All the water falling down from the sky makes Rainbow a wet place; December is the wettest month with most rain; the driest month is July.     These mountains rock, just check out all the entertaining things to do in the Central Cascade Range. There's perfect hiking along the Dry Ridge Trail, and Crown Point State Park is a good site to stretch your legs a bit. You have to get out of the house, and Rainbow in Oregon is exactly the site. So much enjoyable stuff close to Rainbow, and it is a fun site for young and old. This segment of Oregon has a good deal of outdoors activities at your disposal. Rainbow is a very popular campground among visitors from Sandy. If you want a great time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Central Cascade Range. Going for a hike on the Eagle Creek Cutoff is always a great adventure; why not a little side trip to Bowman Creek. This camp ground is one of the great spots to camp here in the Central Cascade Range. The pleasant   choice of local attractions, and such a pleasant variety of outdoors recreation will certainly have you coming back again and again. At this campground you will always have a tremendous time. Don't leave Rainbow without first going for a hike along the Old Baldy Trail; Rainbow is in close proximity to George W. Joseph State Park which is a gorgeous place. If only every place had this much outdoors enjoyable stuff, what a great globe it would be. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always pop by nearby Roslyn Lake, and there are plenty of folks from Sandy here. This campground is so tremendous. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Rainbow; Cold Spring Trail is a delightful local trail. High temperatures at Rainbow during the warm days of summer are in the 80's while overnight lows are usually in the 50's. For the period of the wintertime the highs are frequently in the 40's with temperatures at Rainbow dipping down into the 30's during winter nights. The positive atmosphere and all the exciting things are in themselves cause enough to come here. A lot of folks stay at Rainbow through their visit to George W. Joseph State Park.
