There's whitewater on Bull Run for all you adrenaline kick people, and nearby   you hit upon the Cold Spring Trail which is a nice hiking trail. The folks who look after the campground and the competently taken care of facilities have people coming from all over. The high level of rain makes Raab a relatively wet spot; December is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month is July. Some of the things you can do here at Raab are fishing, swimming, hiking, and whitewater paddling, so it's totally impossible to get bored. And that's not all the things you can do here in the Central Cascade Range. George W. Joseph State Park is a great site to go if you're at Raab, and the Old Baldy Trail is a good hiking trail close by. You can run the rapids of Sandy River in close proximity to Raab; Crown Point State Park is worth taking a look at. Lots of people opt for Raab for the purpose of being in the vicinity of George W. Joseph State Park. The surroundings of this campground have such a vast number of things to offer. The scenery at Firwood Veneer Corporation Dam in the neighborhood of Raab is striking.
