Near Lake Harriet you hit upon the Fanton Plaza Trail which is a delightful hiking trail, and probably you're looking for     close by lakes? Sure, Firwood Veneer Corporation Reservoir is just a very short distance away. All the great local attractions close at hand and the nearby outdoors recreation will positively have you coming back time and again. The friendly folks working here and all the exciting things are in themselves reason enough to come here. There's such a large number of things to do at Lake Harriet including swimming, hiking, whitewater paddling, and fishing, so perhaps you want to stay for a while. Lake Harriet is a good camp ground to use as a base while enjoying the Central Cascade Range. The nice folks of Sandy like to hang out close by; naturally, everybody loves George W. Joseph State Park. Just can't get enough of the Central Cascade Range. Crown Point State Park is worth checking out if you're at Lake Harriet, and you   can go for a hike on the Dry Ridge Trail. When was the last time you went for a weekend of camping? Lake Harriet in Oregon is such a great place. An attention-grabbing thing to go to right next door to Lake Harriet is Firwood Veneer Corporation Dam, and why not a little side tour to Bowman Creek. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the cool stuff at Lake Harriet. Don't leave Lake Harriet without first going for a hike along the Cold Spring Trail, and if you come at the right time of year, Bull Run offers some tremendous whitewater. Lake Harriet is frequently visited by folks from Sandy. Scores of folks stay here when going to George W. Joseph State Park. This is beyond doubt a magnificent campground. Going for a hike on the Old Baldy Trail is always a nice adventure. All through the days of summer, highs frequently are in the 80's at Lake Harriet. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 50's. High temperatures throughout the wintertime are normally in the 40's, and through the dark hours in the wintertime at Lake Harriet temperatures descend to the 30's. Lake Harriet sees pretty high levels of precipitation; most of the rain falls all through December, and the driest of the months is July.
