If you like skiing, you're in luck; Mt. Bachelor is near La Pine State Park, and going for a hike along the Swampy Lakes Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this vicinity. La Pine State Park is a top selection with people of La Pine. If you fancy the outdoors you'll fancy it here in the Central Cascade Range. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Deschutes River, and going for a hike   on the Broken Top Trail is always a good adventure. Through the summer months highs here at La Pine State Park get into the 70's with night lows in the 40's. Throughout the wintertime this place gets highs in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at La Pine State Park. Loads of people camp here for the purpose of being right next door to LaPine State Recreation Area. Swamps don’t sound that good but The Dead Slough near La Pine State Park is quite good, and on a great day you can take a hike along the Mud Lake Trail. The friendly reception and all the amusing things to do have folks coming here. This site, the Central Cascade Range, has so much outdoors entertaining stuff. A golf course in the vicinity of La Pine State Park is Quail Run Golf Course; some of the water close by flows, like Fall River.
