Elkhorn Tavern and RV Park, Blue Mountains, Oregon   Elkhorn Tavern and RV Park is a very popular campground with residents of Monument. All through the warm days of summer, highs commonly are in the 80's at Elkhorn Tavern and RV Park while overnight lows are commonly in the 50's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Elkhorn Tavern and RV Park are in the 20's. Elkhorn Tavern and RV Park is a nice camp ground to use as a base while enjoying the Blue Mountains. You think that's sufficient? Just getting warmed up. There are glorious places to discover     along the Wall Creek Trail; going for a hike on the Madison Butte Trail is always a tremendous adventure. There's such a vast number of things to do near Elkhorn Tavern and RV Park, and it is one of scores of fine campgrounds in this vicinity. It is very arid here at Elkhorn Tavern and RV Park ordinarily; November is the month that gets the most rain while July is regularly the driest month. But wait, there's more entertaining stuff to do in the Blue Mountains. There is a delightful hiking trail near Elkhorn Tavern and RV Park called the Knob Trail, and close by Rail Canyon is a great place to go. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Blue Mountains. It's really bad for you to spend all your time indoors; you've gotta get out sometimes, and Elkhorn Tavern and RV Park in Oregon is just what you need. The staff of this   fine campground and the competently looked after facilities have people coming here. Many people stay here so they can go to John Day Fossil Beds National Monument. So many local attractions and all the outdoors recreation are tremendous reasons to come. There's more to do near Elkhorn Tavern and RV Park other than just hanging out such as hiking, and whitewater paddling, so getting bored is not something that is likely to happen. A lot of fun is at this campground. Don't leave Elkhorn Tavern and RV Park without first going for a hike along the Copple Butte Trail, and you'll possibly meet some folks from Monument here. The Minetop Trail is a wonderful hiking trail close to Elkhorn Tavern and RV Park, and John Day River - North Fork is a great whitewater spot close by. If you are in Oregon all through camping season, you have to go camping. If time allows, John Day Fossil Beds National Monument is a national park worth visiting, and why not pop by nearby East Fork Indian Creek while you're here at Elkhorn Tavern and RV Park.
