Crooked River Ranch RV Park, Oregon   We chose this location because of my interest in the Crooked River gorge, and because it was within 1-day driving distance of John Day Fossil Beds. The park itself is quite nice...although there were parties on both sides of us, we did not feel crowded. The adjacent golf course pool is open to RV campers. It's a long walk, but a convenient short drive. There's a viewing platform overlooking the gorge, which was a plus for me. Rates were quite reasonable for the type of facility. Whitewater paddling is great on Deschutes River, and obviously, everyone loves Peter Skene Ogden State Park. If you don't mind getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Crooked River, and if you want to play some golf, you're in luck because Juniper Golf Club Restaurant & Lounge is close by. At Crooked River Ranch RV Park during the warmest time of the year highs are in the 80's while nighttime lows are usually in the 40's. High temperatures throughout the wintertime are normally in the 40's; during the dark hours in the wintertime at Crooked River Ranch RV Park temperatures dip to the 20's.
