Clackamas Lake - Mount Hood National Forest, Central Cascade Range, Oregon

  Quite a lot of exciting things to do close to Clackamas Lake, and it's always fun to be at this campground. So many amusing things in the Central Cascade Range, just tremendous. Whitewater paddling is good on Sandy River; there's good hiking along the Dry Ridge Trail. So many local attractions and the nearby outdoors recreation are guaranteed to keep you coming back over and over. Time to get out and breathe some fresh air, and Clackamas Lake is a pleasant local campground if you happen to be in Oregon.
While you're here at Clackamas Lake you will
    meet lots of folks from close by Sandy, and you can go for a hike on the Fanton Plaza Trail. Loads of people choose Clackamas Lake when going to George W. Joseph State Park. All the water falling down from the sky makes Clackamas Lake a wet place; the month with most of the rain
is December; the driest month is July.
The welcoming staff and the capably operated operations beat anything. Life's too short to enjoy all the amusing things in the Central Cascade Range. Places like George W. Joseph State Park are tremendous to go to, and the Cold Spring Trail offers hiking at its best. Clackamas Lake is a very popular campground with visitors from Sandy.
At Clackamas Lake throughout the warm months highs are in the 80's, and all through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 40's, and
 
during the dark hours in the wintertime at Clackamas Lake temperatures descend to the 30's. If you have a thing about the outdoors, you'll adore Clackamas Lake. Why not go to close by Bowman Creek while you're here at Clackamas Lake, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always explore close by Roslyn Lake.
Clackamas Lake is one of the places to camp here in the Central Cascade Range. This is a great campground. Bull Run has a great whitewater paddling spot nearby, and there are delightful spots to explore along the Eagle Creek Cutoff. As if Clackamas Lake wasn't enough, you can also go swimming, fishing, hiking, and whitewater paddling, so getting bored is not something that is likely to happen.
This sector of Oregon is always a delight to check out through camping season. This campground is so great. Don't leave Clackamas Lake without first going for a hike along the Old Baldy Trail.
Crown Point State Park is a glorious location, and Firwood Veneer Corporation Dam has brilliant water scenery.
