The Alsea River and Bay, famous for its Dungeness Crab and Chinook Salmon, are enjoyed year-round by fishermen, crabbers, hikers, hunters, boaters, kayakers and birdwatchers. We are close to spectacular ocean beaches. Our park is on the river, just 3. 3 miles from Highway 101 and the ocean, on Highway 34. You can pitch your tent on the river bank; launch your kayak and follow the Alsea River Water Trail. Enjoy the wonderful bird life of the bay which has been designated an important |
bird area by the Audubon Society. Chinook RV Park is a small, quiet park with large full hook-up RV sites and grassy partial hook-up sites. We have bathrooms with showers and a laundry. Come and enjoy the Oregon coast experience.

You are in the vicinity of Shepards Point since you're here at Chinook RV Park, and Beachside State Park is a splendid spot to stretch your legs a bit. And if that's not sufficient there's lots more exciting stuff to do in the Coast Ranges. Chinook RV Park is not the only location nearby, Eckman Lake is a nearby lake, and there are some splendid whitewater spots on Alsea River. River, and swamps like Eckman Slough are fun to stop at.
Now, you may think that's plenty but there's even more cool things to do here in the Coast Ranges. If you come at the right time of year, Drift Creek offers some great whitewater, and hiking along the Horse Creek Trail
is delightful fun. Chinook RV Park sees pretty high levels of rain; the month of December is the wettest with most of the rain; July is the month with the least moisture. Having a fine time at Chinook RV Park is trouble-free. Crestview Hills Golf Course is a fine golf course nearby;
if you're going to from Waldport, you won't be the only one.
A campground like this is too delightful to miss. Ona Beach State Park is a pretty place any time of year, and Mount Eckman is a peak you can spot from Chinook RV Park. Throughout the warmest time of the year here
at Chinook RV Park, high temperatures regularly reach the 60's, and through the night it cools down to the 40's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 50's with temperatures at Chinook RV Park dipping down into the 30's through winter nights.
