lakes. Different Drum Lake is a lake in close proximity, and there are some good whitewater spots on Watauga River. Vanderpool Campgrounds gets a great deal of water; the wettest month of the year is frequently May, that's the one that rains the most while December is typically
the driest month. As if Vanderpool Campgrounds wasn't sufficient, you can also go swimming, hiking, fishing, and whitewater paddling, so you won’t get bored.
