| | We stayed here in October 06. Four families. Had a wonderful experience. Camp sites are shaded, quiet, large and level. Campsite is very clean and bathrooms are very clean and well maintained. Close to Fontana and Bryson City. Make sure you have beer, etc, the closest liquor is Bryson City (20 minute drive) Says Tracey

Turkey Creek Campground gets a lot of water; the month of July is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month of the year is October. Go for a hike on the Thorn Mountain Trail, and while you're here, you might as well visit The Narrows. by. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Noland Creek, and glorious skiing awaits you at Ober Gatlinburg. The great variety of local attractions and all the outdoors recreation will make you happy you came. Through the long summer days highs here at Turkey Creek Campground reach
the 80's. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 60's. Through the winter highs are in the 40's, and nighttime lows in the 20's for Turkey Creek Campground. So many fun things in the Great Smoky Mountains, just striking. Near Turkey Creek Campground you hit upon the Rartram Trail which is a perfect hiking trail; there are some splendid whitewater spots on Deep Creek.
