| | Springmaid Mountain is a beautiful place to visit. Even if you don't like camping they also have cabins. If you go camping, try going in the off season. We went in Sept. 05 and we basically had the campground to ourselves! Even if others were in the campground, the sites are spaced apart. Its a great getaway. Says Mandi

A trip to Lake James State Park when you're here at Springmaid Mountain is a magnificent idea, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Catawba River - North Fork. Springmaid Mountain is liked by folks from Spruce Pine. That right there is a lot of exciting stuff already but it goes on, the Blue Ridge Mountains has it all. A visit to Mount Mitchell State Park when you're here at Springmaid Mountain is never a bad idea, and going for a hike on the Laurel Fork Trail is always a perfect adventure. | |

Be careful coming to the Blue Ridge Mountains, you might not ever want to return home again. You get a brilliant vista of Iowa Hill from Springmaid Mountain, and close by you come across the Bald Mountain Trail which is a great hiking trail. This campground is a pretty place
to stop by. Grassy Creek Golf & Country Club is a golf course in close proximity to Springmaid Mountain, and you can hit the slopes at Sugar Mountain around here. If you are in North Carolina throughout camping season, you should go camping. All the cheery folks and the enormously
competently run facilities have folks coming from near and far. While you're here at Springmaid Mountain you will meet lots of people from nearby Spruce Pine. The good local attractions and the good variety of outdoors recreation are tremendous incentives to come. Go for a
hike on the Red Fork Falls Trail, and you don’t have to go far from Springmaid Mountain to see the water at Swiss Pine Lake Dam. Lakes are such serene sites, why not go to Deer Park Lake near Springmaid Mountain, and if you're looking for some flowing water? Try Graveyard Creek.
The Blue Ridge Mountains scenery is always pretty. Springmaid Mountain is a wet place that gets a great deal of rain; July is the month that gets the most rain while October is the month with the least amount of precipitation. All through the summertime at Springmaid Mountain
temperatures are mostly in the 80's, and during the night it cools down to the 60's. Daytime highs all through the wintertime are in the 40's; winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Springmaid Mountain.
