You'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Scaly Mountain since you're here; going for a hike on the Stewart Trail is always a good adventure. Many folks choose Rose Creek Campground when going to Nantahala National Forest. Get drenched paddling on Cartoogechaye River, and close by you discover the Gage Trail which is a good hiking trail.
